Alpha is a place to explore the Christian faith with others. It is a low pressure environment to discuss the big questions in life.
Every Alpha Online session has three key ingredients: welcoming atmosphere, talk, and discussion. So what does that look like?
■ Welcoming Atmosphere– Alpha is relational. And nothing builds relationships like feeling like you belong
■ Talk – Every week there is a video that explores the basics of the Christian faith
■ Discussion – After the talk is a time of discussion where guests can share their thoughts and questions
The next Alpha will start September 9, 2021. Times and locations to be determined.

Our mission at Hope Community is to help people pursue a lifelong relationship with Jesus. Starting a relationship with Jesus is easy but it requires humility on our part—we must recognize that we are sinners in need of a Savior. Jesus doesn’t expect us to be perfect, he accepts us as we are and begins to transform us. He came for all the imperfect people.
To follow Jesus we must recognize our sin, believe that only Jesus can save us from our sin, and commit to pursuing Jesus the rest of our lives. We don’t have do anything else, we don’t have to clean ourselves up or get it all together, we just have to simply trust Jesus.
If you’ve decided to follow Jesus we would love to begin a conversation about what’s next.
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” -Romans 10:9
You have accepted Jesus as your savior, now what? Your next step is to be baptized. Baptism is one of those words you don’t hear very often. Baptism is a way to go public with your faith, it is an outward sign of an inward change. In Baptism you identify with Jesus in his death, burial and resurrection by being immersed in water. Baptism takes place several times per year.
Read the Bible
In the Bible we discover who God is and his heart for humanity. As we read the Bible we are drawn into the story of God’s grace as he reveals himself to us. The Bible isn’t a set of rules, but rather a unified story of God’s love that leads us to Jesus.
One of the best ways to start reading the Bible is to download the YouVersion Bible App and begin one of the reading plans. The Bible Project helps make the stories of the Bible easy to understand through short videos. Watch the video that corresponds to the book of the Bible you’re reading to help understand it better.
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” -Hebrews 4:12
Your generosity and financial support allow us to create environments and experiences where we can help people pursue a lifelong relationship with Jesus. When you partner with Hope Community financially you are part of something much bigger than yourself. We give out of obedience to God, acknowledging that everything belongs to God. When we give God honors that faith and multiplies our gift and grows our faith. A financial gift is so much more than money, it is hope, joy, and restoration.
We believe that when you serve you grow in your relationship with God. Each week at Hope Community people choose to partner with us by serving in one of our environments. Whether you serve in one of our environments or in the community, it is our desire that you would serve in the place that is best for you.
We were made to live in community with others. In fact, it is our desire that everyone would pursue intimacy with God and other believers, and influence with those who are outside the Christian Faith. We believe this happens best in community. Community groups navigate the intersection of life and faith together. Groups launch in the winter and fall each year.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” -John 13:34-35
